More than a third of 'over-three-day' injuries reported each year to the HSE and Local Authorities are associated with Manual Handling.
Under the Manual Handling Regulations 1992 employers are obliged to assess the risks to Health and Safety of their employees if the manual handling of loads takes place. In such circumstances training must be provided to employees if the risks involved cannot be removed.
